Turning a walk through a station into an act of generosity

To raise awareness of food waste and make food aid easier to reach, N26 and ANDES, the largest network of social grocery stores in France, launched an unprecedented initiative: #LeReDistributeur, a cash machine repurposed so that people could give in a few seconds. Installed at Gare Saint-Lazare, one of the busiest places in Paris, the aim was to make generosity visible, intuitive and immediate, turning an everyday gesture into a positive social contribution. Bonne Idée helped design this immersive experience, combining interactive design, ease of use and simple digital access through a QR code and a mobile app. The activation was built to stir emotion, encourage people to act, and create spontaneous engagement in the service of food aid.

Strong public mobilisation and measurable social impact

The operation drew real enthusiasm from the moment it launched: in three days, more than 2,500 interactions were recorded, with a conversion rate of around 40 per cent between passers-by and donors. The installation generated strong media and digital visibility, while strengthening the image of both partners as players committed to concrete charitable initiatives. Beyond the figures, this activation demonstrates an ability to design civic experiences with strong emotional and social impact, bringing together technology, design and responsible communication. It shows how innovation in everyday use can encourage generous behaviour and open the way to new, more inclusive forms of giving.
